STEM Family Challenge
The Engineering Development Trust (EDT) are running a STEM family challenge event in the main hall on Thursday 11 March between 6.00 – 7.30pm with arrival at 5.45pm.
We are looking for up to 30 teams (one student and one parent) to take part in this fun and unique event, which has been designed to show families some of the courses and careers available in STEM – Science Technology, Engineering and Maths. At the same time, families will have an opportunity to work in teams on an exciting ‘hands on’ activity, where they will have the chance to win prizes.
A family team will comprise one student and one adult but other family members are welcome to come along and spectate. No prior knowledge of STEM is required. Students do not need to wear school uniform. You can visit their web page for further information at www.etrust.org.uk/first-edition/first-editions-stem-family-challenge-events.
EDT is an independent registered charity delivering over 40,000 STEM experiences each year for young people age 9-21 across the UK www.etrust.org.uk . These programs have been designed to enthuse and motivate young people and to encourage them to reach their full potential.
If you and your child wish to take part in the STEM family challenge event please telephone Mrs Pepper on 01473 466162. Places are available on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions about the event, please contact me at school.
